Well thethea,thethea,thethea, the that's all folks.........for THE Weekly Football Pool 2021!

Another out of the ordinary year to say the least with restrictions, resignations and enough drama to make a movie. And that was just the Raiders.lol

In this year's final week we had seven people pick both games correctly scoring 19 points. Last year it was only four. A weird coincidence to note, 22 people had Cincinnati and 22 had San Francisco. Hmmmmm

The total points scored this week were 88, 31 less than last year and 12 less than the O/U line.

Taking 1st place with the closest tie breaker of 90 was the Pride of the Woodlands, Jose C, his second first place this year. Grabbing 2nd place with a TB of 92 was Dr. Kevin T, getting his second mention of the season. 3rd place with 93 was the often mentioned Jozlyn, who came on strong the last two weeks. 4th place was one of the charter members of TWFP, Mike H with 95. And 5th went to Terrence V with 101, keeping him from being shut out this year. Honorable mention goes to Timmy from Las Vegas and Chon for getting both games correct. CONGRATS TO THE WINNERS!

And with no further adieu, we can make it official, in his rookie season in the pool, the guy who had it wrapped up after Week 20, one of the "J's" and Champion of THE Weekly Football Pool 2021, JARED M!!! Applause Applause Applause!!! He was in the top group for nineteen of the twenty one weeks and held the top spot for eleven of those weeks, the last nine in a row. It's a safe bet he had a good time and will be back next year.

Taking 2nd place the 2019 Champ and another one of the "J's", Jozlyn took a good run at it the last few weeks but couldn't quite close the gap. Settling into 3rd place and completing the 1-2-3 for the "J's" was Jake from State Farm.(not his occupation) The 2015 Champ was in the top group all but three of the weeks, and held the top spot two or three times.

Taking 4th is one of the guys who took a year off to re group in 2020, and has come roaring back in 2021, Gary T has had his best season yet. Him and Doodles got married this year, so she must be his good luck charm. : )

And climbing back into the top group, Chon had a good year and capped it off with a 5th place overall finish.

And in only our second year awarding a ca$hi$h boobie prize for last place, the honor goes to Pam Fish.

Well I hope you all had as good a time as I did. I wish everyone could take home a slice of the pie, but like they say, sometimes you're the wheel, and sometimes you're the road. Better luck next year. I think me and my brother Larry A were running on flat tires in 2021.lol

Good job to you all for getting your picks in on time and making the job easier each year. As always, a YUGE thanks to Steven for building and maintaining the website. Final payouts will be going out this week.

Well it was a wild finish last Sunday. It looked like Tom Brady was going to pull off a miracle again and defy the odds. But the prevent defense once again proves it doesn't prevent everything. Why they let anyone get past them is a mystery. Their season all came down to one play and a CB confusing a LB on position, and they let Kupp get past them for the catch. And I was having such a good time in a room full of Rams fans cheering for Tampa Bay.LOL

If that wasn't enough excitement, it looked like KC had their game in the bag. Then Buffalo scored with two minutes left and all hell broke loose. KC comes back and scores with 1:13 left. Then Buffalo scores with 17 seconds left and you think that's it. KC then moves 44 yards in 10 seconds and gets the tying field goal to go to overtime. It was like two heavy weights trading blows in the 15th round of a championship fight. What an unbelievable finish to regulation.

In the end, the winner was Joe, picking all four games correctly with a score of 34 and the closest tie breaker of 186. That's his fourth time in the honey and first 1st place of the season. Three others had all four games correctly also, but it was Rory taking 2nd place with his TB of 203. That's his fourth time in the honey pot also. 3rd place went to Sam and his TB of 176. He would have been the winner if Buffalo had covered, so those last two minutes were like a roller coaster ride for him. 4th place went to Jozlyn and her TB of 234. And for 5th place we had four people go 3 for 4 scoring 27 points. But it was Pam and her TB of 187 that claimed the prize. Honorable mention went to Timmy from Las Vegas with a TB of 201. CONGRATS TO ALL THE WINNERS!

And for the lead and soon to be crowned champion, Jared M stayed on top for the 8th and soon to be 9th week in a row. Jozlyn moved up into 2nd place. Jake FSF dropped to 3rd, Gary T to 4th, and Jay J moved up to 5th. Just off the pace by virtue of his big win, Joe has moved in to contention.

So in today's finale, with on 19 points in play, anything can happen with 2nd through 9th for the cashish with Joe, Jeremy, Chon and Brian F all within striking distance. For the rest of us, it's one last hurrah for the weekly winnings.
